Some Definitive Movie Synopses

For years now, the video store was the way to get movies. Now, with internet usage exploding, movie downloads are becoming very popular. You will find just about any movie you want with a good movie download site. Below is a small sample.

Just for You: Tangy lyrical of creator Crosby who might be bothered with his growing kids, until Wyman shows him the way. Delightful Harry Warren-Leo Robin score, highlighted by "Zing a Little Zlng." Cast includes Bing Crosby, Jane Wyman, Ethel Barrymore, Bob Arthur, Natalie Wood, and Cora Witherspoon, Regis Toomey. (104 minutes, 1952)

Big Trouble: Harried coverage sales associate Arkin needs money to send his 3 sons through Yale, so he gets to be engaged with ditsy D'Angelo in a plot to slaughter her loony spouse (Falk). This is pretty stupid stuff, albeit the sardine-flavored liqueur does grant a few giggles. Andrew Bergman wrote the script under the name Warren Bogle. Cast includes Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, Beverly D'Angelo, Charles Durning, Robert Pile, Paul Dooley, Valerie Curtin, and Richard Libertini. (93 minutes, 1985)

1408: Mike Enslin makes his living debunking the paranormal. His next project is room 1408 at the Dolphin Hotel. The manager does everything in his power to stop Mr. Enslin from staying in 1408, but to no avail. Mr. Enslin will soon see why 1408 has been closed for years.

The Specialist: An explosives specialist befriends a woman whose parents have been murdered. Together they set out to avenge the death of her parents. This means taking on a Cuban-American crime boss, his son, and a brutal hit man.

Heartbreak Hotel: A dependable quiz of your whimsy entrance, as an Ohio adolescent ScWatter abducts Elvis in 1972, then moves him home to the divorced mamma Weld-who's toted a torch for the Emperor as long as the rnid-1950s. Keith's Presley, like the whole film, is fun, albeit the premise is so difficult to swallow that you're in all likelihood to go with this or deny it all the way. Cast includes David Keith, Tuesday Weld, Charlie ScWatter, JaCque Lynn Colton, Angela Goethals, Chris Mulkey, and Karen Landry. (93 minutes, 1988)

Enemy At The Gates: The Germans are now in Stalingrad. As the battle for the city rages on, an intriguing sub battle goes on. Famed Russian sniper Vassili Zalisev is picking off key Germans at an alarming rate. So, the Germans call in their best sniper, Major Konig. Now these two brilliant snipers stage an intense battle in the background of the destruction going on around them. Vassili carries the hopes of all of Russia. His victory will uplift the spirits of their war efforts.

Mr. Baseball: Jack Elliot was one of baseball's true superstars. He has seen his best days, and the Yankees have the next superstar waiting in the wings. They make the decision, and trade their former star away. To make things worse, they trade him to Japan.

So Ends Our Night: Better film of Erich Maria Remarque tale of German March denying Nazi reign, escaping his nation with intense chase by Axis representatives. Cast includes Fredric March, Margaret Sullavan, Frances Dee, Glenn Ford, Anna Sten, Erich von Stroheim, and Allan Brett. (117 minutes, 1941)

The Terminal: On a trip to New York from his homeland in Krakozhia, Viktor Navorski finds, upon arriving New York that his passport in now invalid. There has been a coup, and no one recognizes his country anymore. He is stranded, in limbo, in the international lounge until a solution can be found. Days become weeks, with no resolution in site for poor Viktor.
