By H. Obuobi

Many are beginning to appreciate the huge potential of blogging and its influence on building credibility and reputation but in order to generate this type of result the art of making your posts compelling should be consciously developed. If you are directing huge traffic to your site but the content is junk, you achieve nothing. Fortunately you don't need a degree to write compelling posts. This skill can be easily developed.

There are many things to blog about - providing fresh content that is helpful and valuable to your readers;reviewing products to help buyers make informed decisions or sharing you opinions and thoughts on news publications.

As I indicated earlier, the skills for writing compelling posts can be easily developed ,it depends on one's interest and determination.Providing comprehensible, factual and search engine optimized content is the desire of every blogger and below are some guidelines which are helpful for efficient blogging.

* Keep your sentences and paragraphs short.Long sentences usually serve as a deterrent.

* Create attention - Make your titles attractive and search engine optimized.

* Arouse desire - If you are promoting an affiliate product it is essential to generate a persuasive longing for that product and if it is for informational purposes only this principle is still necessary to instill a desire for continuous reading.

* Be more informal.- It puts the reader at ease.

* Inject some humor. A little tickling of the humour nerve makes reading exciting.

*Write like it counts. It gives an impression you should be taken seriously.

* White space is a valuable asset. Use it. It makes reading easier. Nothing is harder to read than a thick block of text

* Make a copious use of bullet points. They do a good job in hammering down the salient points.

* Make use of subheadings - it makes it easier to get a gist of the content at a glance

* Maintain the consistency of your tone throughout the blog post.

* Include a desired call for action - It is important that you spell out the desired action you want your readers to take. There is always something you want your readers to do,purchase a product ,subscribe or leave a comment. A smart blogger does well to ensure that readers stick around for long and take an action.

* Make optimal use of the spell check tool before posting your blogs. Too many mistakes give a wrong impression.

* Eliminate any irrelevant points - They may mask the core message of your blog

* Avoid the use of slang terms as some readers are easily offended. Make use of words that are easily understood by many people. Bear in mind that your readers come from different educational and cultural backgrounds.

* Use minimal abbreviations - too many makes reading difficult.

Sincerity and dedication are virtues that people are attracted to, so in trying to share your knowledge, views and ideas ,that attribute should be felt in your blog.Readers do appreciate it.
