In A Rush To Find A Provo Printing Firm

By Javier Kreis

I finally made the move on down to Provo, Utah to go to school from up north in Salt Lake City. It was my first time living on my own and, to be honest, I was a little nervous. My folks travelled with me to make sure I was set up right. They helped me get an apartment, and my good 'ol dad took me to the grocery store and hooked me up with all the goods.

It was both liberating and nerve racking. My folks travelled with me to make sure I was set up right. I wanted them there to help out, but I also was scared to be seen with them. I knew image was everything with kids my age.

On my first day of class the nervousness really set in. I was all alone on a big campus. I didn't know where any of my classes were and was lost. I thought about calling my parents but they wouldn't know any better than I would.

The next day was the first day of class. That's when the nerves really went nerve racking. Here I was, a skinny little freshman all alone on foreign campus with a bunch of strangers. Naturally, I got lost when I couldn't find my classes, I was late to other classes, and I was overwhelmed with a college workload. I felt like a imbecile. And the twinge of homesickness started creeping in.

Of course, I got home and hung out with my roommates and then procrastinated writing my first paper. By the time I got it done, I went to print. Hit the button, and to my surprise there was no ink in my brand new printer.

I left it sitting on top of my dresser at home - 45 minutes away. It was not worth the almost hour long drive to pick up some ink, so I decided to go out and buy some ink from the store.

I learned my lesson when it comes to printers, always be prepared and incase they fail, always have a backup. That is the thing about technology, what is supposed to fix a problem, usually is the problem.

This experience really tested my independence. It proved the fact that I could get by without my parents help. I am really looking forward to living on my own. I think I will grow up real fast this way.
